How to make steak fajitas
Rump, skirt, and flank steak are all great cuts to use for fajitas. Sometimes if I know I have a busy week ahead, I’ll simply grab a package of already cut up steak pieces from the store to save me some time. If you are starting with a full cut of steak, the first step is to slice your steak and then your fajita vegetables.
In a small bowl, you’ll then combine the ingredients for the homemade fajita seasoning and set aside.
Homemade Fajita Seasoning Recipe
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
In a medium pan, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced bell pepper and onion. Cook until tender.
In medium pan, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium-high heat. Add steak pieces. Stir in homemade fajita seasoning and cook until fully browned.
Once your steak pieces and fajita vegetables are cooked, you’ll want to gather the rest of you toppings and tortillas. Some suggested fajita toppings include; salsa, guacamole, shredded cheese, sour cream, lettuce, and rice.
