Intuitive eating currently isn’t the most popular choice.
It’s not the normal way to go about eating. And while one day I dream to see everyone having a simple and easy relationship with food, I acknowledge not everyone believes that’s possible. Which makes it difficult for people to pursue intuitive eating when they feel people may reject their choice.
The desire to belong is a basic human need. When you go against the norm, it puts that sense of belonging at risk. You may worry people will reject you based on how you look, the way you eat, and for being different.
