A healthy take on a classic recipe, this low sodium chili with ground beef is an easy and delicious meal.
One of the easiest ways to reduce the sodium in your diet is to buy everything that you can low sodium. This helps to put you into control of how much salt will be in you meal because you can always add salt while cooking but you can’t take is back out. Look for reduced salt, low salt, reduced sodium, or no salt added when purchasing canned goods.
Another tip is to drain and rinse your canned goods when possible, I always do this for canned beans and some canned vegetables, because this helps to rinse off some of the excessive salt. When cooking you can still season your food to have a lot of flavor without salt using a variety spices.
